About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to summarize the new research in the reservoir geology of unconventional natural gas resources and to address the challenges associated with unconventional natural gas exploration and development.
We sincerely welcome scholars to submit their research papers, including but not limited to coalbed methane, shale gas and tight sandstone gas. Potential topics include but are not limited to:
1. Formation, evolution and hydrocarbon generation process of source rocks
2. Geological characteristics of unconventional natural gas reservoirs
3. Accumulation model and enrichment mechanism of unconventional natural gas
4. Quantitative characterization of multi-scale pore and fracture structure of unconventional gas reservoirs
5. Dynamic changes in reservoir permeability
6. Reservoir heterogeneity and reservoir evaluation
Keywords: unconventional natural gas, geological characteristics, reservoir permeability, reservoir evaluation
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
