About this Research Topic
Magneto-optic effect-based metamaterial and photonic crystals have gained a significant increase in interest recently. The interests include the fabrication of double metamaterials, the enhancement of magneto-optic effects, and the nonreciprocal wave propagation in the metamaterials and photonic crystals. One special interest is the robust chiral edge states or corner states due to the topological phases of photonic crystals. These effects can be achieved by the meta-atom configuration, the coupling among the meta-atoms, and the designs. Exploring the application of the magneto-optic effects and nonreciprocal effects is one of the main interests of the topic.
The aim of the current Research Topic is to cover promising, recent, and novel research trends in the metamaterials and photonic crystals fields including gyromagnetic materials. Areas to be covered in this Research Topic may include, but are not limited to:
· Metamaterials and photonic crystals by gyromagnetic medium
· Enhancement of magneto-optical effect by metamaterials and photonic crystals
· Nonreciprocity of metamaterials and photonic crystals
· Applications of magneto-optical effects and nonreciprocity of metamaterials and photonic crystals
