About this Research Topic
Even though the study of photonic topological insulators in Hermitian systems has achieved great success, new discoveries and novel physics therein, such as synthetic dimension, non-Hermitian topology, high-order topology, and quantum effects, continue to fuel the development of topological photonics. This Research Topic aims to exchange the latest research progress, and promote the development of topological photonics in these new directions.
The scope of the Research Topic will include but not limited to
1. Design, fabrication, and measurement of photonic topological insulators
2. Synthetic dimensions
3. Non-Hermitian and PT-symmetric optics
4. High-order topological states
5. Topological properties of photonic crystals and metamaterials
6. Quantum topological photonics
7. Applications of topological photonic system
8. Topological physics in integrated circuits.
9. Other related areas, such as topological microwaves, topological acoustics, etc.
