There are many kinds of GTPases in eukaryotic cells, which regulate diverse aspects of cellular functions by catalyzing hydrolysis of GTP to GDP. Also in plants, GTPases act in various fundamental and/or plant-unique biological processes including organelle division, polarity formation, membrane traffic, chloroplast import, regulation of cytoskeleton, and signal transduction. In this research topic, we aim to collect reviews and original articles on the functions and regulatory mechanisms of several plant GTPase families, which will include RAB, ROP, dynamin-related, tubulin, trimeric, and chloroplast-related GTPases.
