About this Research Topic
Although several experimental and numerical works have been focused on heat transfer related to the data centers, the theories and methods for thermal management of data centers are still required to be further developed to improve the energy efficiency for data centers. Besides, it is still unclear how heat transfer technology affects power usage effectiveness in data centers.
This Research Topic aims to highlight some theories and techniques to meet the emerging challenges of thermal management in data centers, with a special emphasis on microscale heat transfer for efficient cooling. We invite Original Research, Review, Brief Research Report, Mini Review, and Perspective focused on all aspects of heat transfer in data centers, including liquid cooling, heat pipe, boiling cooling, evaporation cooling, heat storage, solid-liquid phase change, etc.
Keywords: microscale, heat transfer, data centers, boiling, evaporation, heat storage
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
