Tumor microenvironment refers to the internal environment in which includes not only tumor cells themselves, but also various surrounding stromal cells and extracellular matrix. In the past decades, tumor microenvironment has been considered to be involved in tumorigenesis, progression, relapse, metastases, as well as response to therapy. However, the regulatory mechanism and network of tumor microenvironment are still unclear. Current advances in exploring and understanding the non-coding genome adds a novel perspective to the regulatory mechanism and network of tumor microenvironment in control of gastric cancer development and progression.
This Research Topic aims to highlight current advances with in-depth research and investigations on the regulation of non-coding and coding genomes in gastric cancer microenvironment, including immune microenvironment, epigenetic regulation, metabolic reprogramming regulation and tumor microenvironment derived exosomes regulation. Additionally, it will expand to cover the study of translational research on exploring novel therapeutic strategies targeting tumor microenvironment and non-coding genome in inhibition of cancer relapse, metastasis and drug-resistance.
