Subclinical thyroid dysfunction (STD) is a common condition and numerous studies have been published in the last decade to assess the potential risks associated with this disorder.
The diagnosis, adverse effects and treatment of STD may be affected by the severity of this thyroid dysfunction , the age of the patients and the presence of comorbidities.
Despite the publication of several meta-analyses and randomized controlled trials, there are controversial views regarding the most appropriate management of subclinical thyroid dysfunction in patients with comorbidities.
The aim of this research topic is to assess the current state of knowledge on the diagnosis, clinical significance and treatment of subclinical thyroid dysfunction in patients with comorbidities.
We would like to invite international researchers to contribute to this special issue with original research as well as review articles on the following topics:
Subclinical thyroid dysfunction in critically ill patients
Subclinical hyperthyroidism in patients with osteoporosis
Subclinical hyperthyroidism in patients with atrial fibrillation
Subclinical thyroid dysfunction in patients with coronary heart disease
Subclinical thyroid dysfunction in patients with heart failure
Subclinical thyroid dysfunction in patients at high risk of cardiovascular disease like atherosclerosis
Subclinical thyroid dysfunction in patients with kidney disease
Subclinical thyroid dysfunction in patients with diabetes
Subclinical thyroid dysfunction in patients with obesity
