Sleep disturbance is common in those who have experienced psychological stress or trauma, and has been considered as one of the most prominent symptoms of trauma or stress related disorders. Sleep has been reported to affect the development and course of psychiatric disorders after psychological trauma or stress. Recently, sleep has also been proposed to mediate or influence the emotional or the cognitive dysfunctions by stress or trauma.
The aim of this Research Topic is to gather a comprehensive body of research to explore the various relationships between sleep and psychological trauma or stress. This Research Topic would help the understanding of the multidimensional relationship between sleep, stress/trauma and related emotional/cognitive dysfunctions. Ultimately, knowledge provided by this Research Topic will help the clinical practices for trauma or stress related disorders.
