This Research Topic is set in the frame of the third EPIPLANT meeting, which gathers the scientific community studying epigenetics and chromatin dynamics in plants, in the context of the French research consortium EPIPLANT GDR. Several invited speakers from abroad as well as attendees outside of the GDR shall join the meeting. The third EPIPLANT meeting will be held on February 8th-12th 2021, and organized by the Plant Genome and Development laboratory at the university of Perpignan, with the contribution of other members of the EPIPLANT GDR.
Epigenetics and chromatin dynamics play fundamental roles in various aspects of plant biology: regulation of nuclear structure, regulation of gene expression, and silencing of transposable elements, with key functions in determining cell fates and plant development, as well as in response to environmental stimuli and stresses.
The goal of this Research Topic is to report the latest insights into epigenetic and chromatin dynamics in plants in order to provide the most up-to-date review of this research field.
This Research Topic will collect articles related to the following subjects on plant models:
• Epigenetic and chromatin dynamics
• Epigenetic regulation of transposable elements
• Epigenetic regulation in response to the environment
• Epigenetics and non-coding RNAs pathways
• Polycomb and trithorax functions in development
• Epigenetics and chromatin organization in crops
• Transgenerational epigenetic variation
• Epigenetics, ecology and evolution
Contributors are welcome to send Original Research, Methods, and Review articles.
