About this Research Topic
Recent technological developments have given rise to multiple high-throughput biological data types. These include omics data, such as genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and other micro and macro-scale activities data, including those empowered by imaging technologies. Bioinformatics and computational biology approaches are key for analyses of large-scale datasets, invaluable for basic biological research and the translation of data-driven discoveries.
This Research Topic is in conjunction with the 19th International Conference on Bioinformatics 2020 (InCoB2020) , the flagship, annual conference of Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Network (APBioNet), which will be held virtually for the first time, this year from November 25-29. The conference will include presentations of original research results, discussions in plenary sessions, poster sessions, workshops, software demos and panel discussions related to the field of bioinformatics and computational biology.
The central focus of this Research Topic is aligned with the theme of the conference “Bioinformatics and the translation of data-driven discoveries.” We encourage submissions central to the theme in all areas of bioinformatics and computational biology, which are in scope for either Frontiers in Genetics or Frontiers in Bioinformatics.
