Exosomes play a pivotal role in a wide spectrum of diseases such as tumorigenesis, cardiovascular disease, nephropathy, metabolic disease and so on. Although the functions of exosomes are largely unknown, progress has been made in recent years revealing the role of exosomes in the physiological and pathological function of cancer, cardiovascular disease, metabolic disease, kidney disease, and others. Moreover, exosomes in serum are also proposed to be a biomarker for some diseases.
This Research Topic aims to delineate the functionalities of exosomes in their physiological and pathological roles in different metabolic and endocrine diseases. It will cover a spectrum of research interests that draw a holistic view to reveal the function and mechanisms of exosomes in diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutics.
Original research and reviews covering novel studies of exosomes in their physiological and pathological roles in metabolic and endocrine disease, such as diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease, adrenal disease, etc. are welcome.
