About this Research Topic
Optoelectronic devices involve many fields such as device fabrication, physical modeling and simulation, signal processing, photoelectric detection and display. Moreover, many related photonics devices have been derived. In the past few decades, the related technology has developed rapidly. With the continuous progress of the new access network systems, optical information, numerical analysis and new materials, optoelectronic devices have also obtained the means of technological development. At the same time, the development of society puts forward a higher demand for optoelectronic devices in access networks with new features such as broadband, high-speed, integration, intelligence. Therefore, various new devices have been emerging; and their performance and functions have been improved and their new access network applications have been developed.
Despite the rapid development of optoelectronic devices, we still need to continue to adopt new technologies, use new materials, study new principles and develop new applications for access networks. For example, a more advanced optoelectronic system model, innovative optical processing devices, optical signal transmission efficiency, and the improvement of optoelectronic devices with the development of related disciplines would be beneficial.
The purpose of our Research Topic is to search for the latest developments in optoelectronic devices and share the beneficial promotion of other disciplines for this field. We are particularly interested in accommodating contributions that explore any of the following research areas in optoelectronic devices for access networks (but not limited to):
• Design and integration of optoelectronic devices and systems
• Device simulation based on new mathematical methods
• Physical simulation of new optoelectronic devices
• Performance analysis and improvement of photoelectric systems
• Research and development of new luminescent materials
• Design of optoelectronic devices based on new materials
• Optical information transmission and detection
• Electro-optical performance testing of optoelectronic devices
• New principle optoelectronic devices
