The energy transition and the mitigation of the CO2 emissions are key challenges of chemical engineering. On the one hand, energy is the driver of the chemical industry and on the other hand, chemical engineering is a key discipline for the supply of energy services. This encompasses the energy conversion, the CO2 capture and reuse and the integration of renewable energy sources.
This Research Topic is focused on the outcome of the mini-symposium of the EFCE Energy Section in the 12th European Congress on Chemical Engineering (ECCE12) on the theme of “Energy and Chemical Engineering” and aims to collect high quality research studies that address challenges on the role of energy in chemical engineering and vice versa. Topics include, but are not limited to:
