University of Lleida forms publishing agreement with Frontiers

University of Lleida has formed an institutional membership agreement for open access publishing with Frontiers. This institutional agreement means that eligible University of Lleida researchers may publish in any Frontiers journal at no cost to them and with a simplified process. Articles may benefit from a 10% membership discount. The university library University of Lleida supports its researchers in making their research more widely available. This agreement will further encourage University of Lleida researchers to publish open access, increasing the volume of research openly available. Open University of Catalonia has formed an institutional membership agreement for open access publishing with Frontiers. This institutional agreement means that eligible Open University of Catalonia researchers may benefit from a 10% discount under the terms of the CSUC Open Access publishing framework agreement. The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center forms Open-Access Publishing Agreement with Frontiers

As part of the University of Oklahoma’s support in making research more widely available, the Robert M. Bird Health Sciences Library at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and the University of Oklahoma Libraries have agreed to an institutional membership agreement with Frontiers, enabling OUHSC-affiliated corresponding authors to benefit from a 15% membership discount on article processing charges (APCs) in any of Frontiers’ journals. In addition to the discount, insights into institutional activity will be included in data reports to be made available directly to OUHSC. Information for OUHSC authors: The discount will be automatically applied if OUHSC-affiliated corresponding authors submit manuscripts with a University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center institutional email address. If they submit via another email domain, but indicate OUHSC as the affiliation on the paper, Frontiers will verify eligibility for the discount with the Robert M. The JISC UK National Open Access Agreement with Frontiers – Two Years in.

In 2019, Frontiers signed a three year national open access agreement in the UK with JISC Collections.  Thanks to this landmark deal, UK universities now benefit from a simplified and streamlined route to open access publishing for researchers in the UK. As we approach the second anniversary of the agreement, we are pleased to announce an overwhelmingly positive response from UK universities.  More than half of all UK articles published by Frontiers come from the growing number of universities participating in this agreement (see list below).  UK universities and its researchers benefit from the advantages of publishing in open access, which include global immediate and unrestricted reading access and permanent open archiving. Other benefits of joining the agreement include: A 10% discount on the publication costs (APCs),Authors are relieved from responsibilities of payment and invoicing,Three central invoicing options for institutions to choose from,Institutions determine which articles are eligible to be paid for centrally,Institutions are supported by dedicated account managers. Boost for Open Access in Asia as Frontiers and Taiwan’s NHRI seal deal

Frontiers announces its first open-access agreement with Asian institution One of Taiwan’s leading medical research institutions, the National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), and the open-access publisher Frontiers have today announced a publishing deal effective as of August 2021. Established in 1995, NHRI is one of Asia’s leading medical research and healthcare institutions. It focuses on fields including aging, cancer, infectious diseases and vaccine research, genomic medicine, biomedical engineering, biotechnology and drug discovery, environmental and occupational health, population health, and health policy. The agreement, the first of its type in Asia for Frontiers, means that article processing charges (APCs) for articles by eligible NHRI authors in any Frontiers journal (currently 126) will be processed centrally via the NHRI library. Furthermore, NHRI and its authors will benefit from a 5% membership discount on processing charges for articles covered by this agreement. Under the terms of the deal, articles will be published under the CC-BY license and will be immediately and completely free to read. APCs will be processed through a centralized monthly billing mechanism to further reduce administrative costs and the workload for NHRI and its authors. Frontiers forms open access publishing agreement with the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR)

Under the terms of Luxembourg’s new national publishing agreement with Frontiers, the Luxembourg National Research Fund will cover Article Processing Charges (APCs) for eligible articles centrally for their eligible authors, benefitting from a 7.5% membership discount per this agreement. For more information on Luxembourg’s national publishing agreement with Frontiers, please see the announcements by the National Library of Luxembourg (BNL) and Frontiers. Information for authors: Authors should submit their FNR-funded manuscripts through ChronosHub to have the eligible APC amount directly paid by the FNR. Luxembourg and Frontiers strike national Open Access publishing agreement

Luxembourg’s research community has strengthened its commitment to Open Access through a new national publishing agreement, announced this week. The Bibliothèque Nationale du Luxembourg, the country’s national library, and the open access publisher Frontiers have reached a three-year publishing deal that will run until February 2024. Managed by the Consortium Luxembourg national library service, participating organizations include: the Bibliothèque Nationale du Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Institute of Health, and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, as well as the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), making it the first publisher agreement to include the main funder in Luxembourg. This is also the first deal between a national consortium and Frontiers with an annual payment structure, a model designed to help streamline and simplify operations. Eligible authors from participating institutions now benefit from reduced administration when they publish in any one of Frontiers’ portfolio of 116 open access journals at no cost to themselves. Frontiers, the Consortium and FNR will now directly manage tasks such as making payments and managing communications. Organizations benefit from online tools for eligibility verification, transparent and comprehensive reporting on expenditures, a dedicated account support manager, and publishing fee discounts.
