UC Davis and Frontiers extend open access publishing agreement

We are delighted to announce that the University of California, Davis (UC Davis) and Frontiers have extended their institutional membership agreement for open access publishing. As part of the University of California, Davis’ support for its researchers in making their research more widely available it held an institutional membership agreement with Frontiers, enabling affiliated corresponding authors to benefit from a 10% membership discount on article processing charges (APCs). UC Davis has been supporting their researchers by maintaining a membership discount with frontiers since 2019. For background information please see UC Davis Library’s webpages on Open Access Publishing. For quick and automated application of the discount, authors are asked to submit their manuscripts using their @ucdavis.edu email address. Frontiers journals are all fully open access, therefore UC Davis authors who publish in one of the journals are eligible for support through the UC Davis Library’s Open Access Fund. Frontiers and NILU – Norwegian Institute for Air Research form open access publishing agreement

NILU – Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU –  Norsk institutt for luftforskning) supports their authors in publishing open access. As part of this support, NILU – Norwegian Institute for Air Research will cover Article Processing Charges (APCs) for eligible articles centrally for their eligible authors. Furthermore, NILU – Norwegian Institute for Air Research will benefit from a 10% membership discount under the terms of the UNIT Open Access Publishing Framework Agreement. Frontiers and Nord University form open access publishing agreement

Nord University (Nord universitet) supports their authors in publishing open access. As part of this support, Nord University will cover Article Processing Charges (APCs) for eligible articles centrally for their eligible authors. Furthermore, the Nord University will benefit from a 10% membership discount under the terms of the UNIT Open Access Publishing Framework Agreement. Eligible authors are corresponding authors affiliated with Nord University. The journal must be registered in the Directory of Open Journals (DOAJ) and ranked as level 1 or 2 in NSD’s Database for Higher Education. In applications for external funding, Nord researchers are requested to apply to have expenses for article processing charges (APCs) covered. Articles resulting from external funding including dedicated funds to cover APCs, are not comprised by this publishing agreement. UiT The Arctic University of Norway joins national framework agreement for open access publishing

UiT The Arctic University of Norway (UiT Norges arktiske universitet) supports their authors in publishing Open Access. As a part of a national Framework Agreement between Unit The Norwegian Directorate for ICT and Joint Services in Higher Education & Research and Frontiers, UiT will automatically cover the Article Processing Charges (APCs) for eligible authors and articles. How does it work? You have to be the corresponding author affiliated with UiT The Arctic University of Norway.The article has to be a type A or type B article.When submitting your article, select ‘UiT The Arctic University of Norway’ as institutional payer in the invoice section. Frontiers will verify your eligibility with UiT University Library, and if confirmed, the discounted APC will be paid by the University Library upon acceptance. Questions? Frontiers and the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) form open access publishing agreement

We are delighted to announce that the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf (Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf / UKE) has established an institutional membership agreement for open access publishing with Frontiers. The University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf supports its researchers in making their research more widely available. As part of this support, the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf has entered an institutional agreement with Frontiers. Under the terms of this agreement, eligible authors from the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf may publish in any Frontiers journal at no cost to them and with a simplified process. Eligible authors will benefit from a streamlined invoicing process, managed directly between Frontiers and the Open Access team at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf, relieving authors of the responsibility of payment. Furthermore, the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf will benefit from a discount on Article Processing Charges (APCs) for articles covered by this agreement. This agreement will further encourage authors at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf to publish open access, increasing uptake of open access to the results of mostly publicly funded research, to the benefit of the scholarly community and the public at large, while reducing costs.
