Decent work plays a crucial role in promoting workers' professional and personal development and in ensuring social security and care through the implementation of laws and regulations. Recently, the global labour market has been significantly affected by technological advancements, the expansion of the services sector, and globalization. Accordingly, safeguarding fundamental workers' rights has become increasingly important, making decent work essential for producing more and better-quality work. The eighth sustainable development target of the United Nations Sustainable Development Agenda places a strong emphasis on the importance of achieving full and productive employment, decent work for all, and equal pay for work of equal value. The success of this agenda hinges implementing policies that encourage inclusive economic growth and accommodate varying levels of development and resources. In the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, there is a growing need to recognize the importance of decent work conditions for sustainable economic growth. This study attempts to investigate the impact of decent work predictors on sustained economic growth over the period 1991-2022. By using panel data and econometrics techniques, this study seeks to provide valuable insights for policymakers, economists, and other stakeholders. The findings of this study determine the positive association between quality employment opportunities and overall economic performance. This finding contributes valuable insights into the role of decent work in deriving economic development and emphasizes the need for policies related to decent work and sustained economic growth.
