Surgical abortion service reorganization in response to the COVID-19 pandemic: a unique experience of attending second trimester D&E procedures under spinal anesthesia as emergency procedures

    Although much has been explored regarding the impact of COVID-19 on first trimester abortion and adjustments made to continute the abortion service without interuption such as telemedicine, self-management of abortion, there are too few studies on the impact of the pandemic on second trimester abortion. To the authors knowlege our report is the first to present on health-service re-organization made during the Pandemic to accomodate second trimester dilation and evacuation services for abortion clients. For this reason, we believe that this article fits to your ongoing special isssue.
