A Multidimensional Analysis of Elderly Well-being and Health Literacy in Alentejo: A Cross -Sectional Study

    This article tackles fundamental questions about ageing and the challenges associated with the increase in the elderly population, addressing crucial issues for the promotion of public health and the development of healthy ageing policies. Through a multidimensional analysis of a significant sample of older people, the study highlights issues such as the prevalence of loneliness, the impact of pain and anxiety on quality of life, and low levels of health literacy, which affect the autonomy and health management capacity of older people. These factors are especially relevant in rural areas, where barriers to accessing healthcare and lack of social support can be more pronounced. This contributes to the advancement of community and individual strategies that can improve the well-being of older people in vulnerable regions.
