Imaging manifestations of gingival epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma one case report and literature review
Provisionally accepted- ningcheng county central hospital, Chifeng, China
This paper reports a case of gingival epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma. The patient is a 72-year-old female. One year ago, the posterior teeth on the right maxilla fell out, and then there was a local bulge which gradually enlarged. CT manifestations: The second premolar to the third molar on the right maxilla are absent. A quasi-circular slightly low-density shadow is seen in the gingival area with a CT value of 26 HU. The outer boundary is clear, and the inner boundary is not clearly displayed. The size is 2.5 cm × 4.5 cm × 1.6 cm. The local alveolar bone adjacent to the inner side shows local bone destruction. The lower wall of the maxillary sinus is partially absent, and soft tissue density is seen in the adjacent maxillary sinus. MRI examination shows a slightly mixed signal mainly with low signal on T1WI and high signal on T2WI. DWI shows high signal with out clear edges. After enhanced scanning, it is obviously and uniformly enhanced. There are strip-shaped low-enhanced septa inside. Enlarged lymph nodes are seen in the right cervical vascular space. Pathological diagnosis: epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma.
