The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) was created in 1943 as the main public institution in Mexico. OncoCREAN is part of the IMSS and means statal reference centers of Pediatric Oncology were created to achieve equitable access to pediatric patients with cancer. Through homogenizing the treatment, staff training, and the opportunity to care for complications at a national level, in 2022, IMSS began the implementation of this strategy to improve survival. We made a narrative description of steps to create OncoCREANs, the standardization of the shipping and processing of samples as well as the training of the personnel. Finally, through the analysis of the patients attended in 2022, we report the preliminary results.
