Cyanobacteria are serving as promising microbial platforms for development of photosynthetic cell factories. For enhancing the economic competitiveness of the photosynthetic biomanufacturing technology, comprehensive improvements on industrial properties of the cyanobacteria chassis cells and engineered strains are required.
