The reason for this is related to changes in many other physical relations. The solidification undercooling is mainly lower the partition coefficient and the heat of fusion is changed during microgravity conditions. Experimental results are presented and analysed in order to find a unified theoretical understanding. The analysis gives that the atoms vibrations increase with decreasing gravity. Especially the amplitude will increase. The explanation to this is given by a decrease in the binding energy between the atoms with decreasing gravity. And the decrease is larger for the liquid than for the solid.
