The carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of power enterprises is explored based on the carbon footprint. First, edge computing is adopted to calculate the direct CO2 emissions of China's power industry from 2005 to 2020 based on energy input, and analyzes the direct carbon dioxide emissions and the changing trend. On this basis, blockchain technology is employed to quantitatively analyze the indirect carbon dioxide emissions of energy consumption of power enterprises. A comprehensive analysis is made on the change trend and circulation of the total carbon footprint of power enterprises based on the direct and indirect emissions of carbon dioxide. The data show that the proportion of direct carbon dioxide emissions in the total carbon footprint is gradually decreasing, while the proportion of indirect carbon dioxide emissions in the total carbon footprint is gradually increasing. The results show that the power industry should increase the proportion of clean power in the power industry, control the growth of total carbon dioxide emissions from the source, and focus on improving the utilization rate of energy, to optimize the carbon footprint verification of power enterprises.
