The geological disasters of Emei to Mianning section of Chengdu-Kunming railway located in southwestern China occur frequently, and a large number of debris flow gullies are distributed along the line. Debris flows often cause damage to the railway and highway along the line, which threaten the safety operation of the original line and the double-track line. Along the railway , 53 debris flow gullies with debris flow outbreak risk are analyzed by means of field survey, remote sensing interpretation and numerical simulation, their developmental characteristics was judged according to the code. The results are used for numerical simulation of debris flow to further determine the movement characteristics and the accumulation range of debris flow. Combined with high-definition satellite images to analyze the form of railway passing from the mouth of the ditch, further combined with the simulation results to determine the impact on the safe operation of Chengdu-Kunming railway when the debris flow erupts. Finally, comprehensive analysis proposes corresponding disaster prevention and mitigation recommendations and validates the prevention and control effect of the prevention and control works.
