Cell-based tissue engineering approaches have emerged as a realistic alternative for regenerative disc tissue repair. The multidirectional differentiation potential of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) to treat disc degeneration intervertebral disc degeneration has also become a viable option.
