The first Sharif Neuroscience Symposium (SNS 2019) was motivated by the enthusiasm among researchers and students across Iran to learn from each other and from the international experts working in the cross section of neuroscience and engineering. The goal was to bring together various disciplines in systems neuroscience, machine learning and neuro-engineering to try to understand the most fascinating organ of our body i.e. the brain and to mimic the neural processes in artificial systems. The event received more than 70 abstracts submissions, all of which underwent blind a peer-review process. About two-thirds of submissions were invited for oral or abstract presentations during the event. The event was organized by RESANA, a student run organization in electrical engineering department in Sharif University of Technology and was chaired by Drs. Ali Ghazizadeh and Bijan Vosoughi-Vahdat. Abstracts of a select group of presentations are included in this ebook.
