3rd International Symposium on Acute Kidney Injury in Children

The field of pediatric acute kidney injury (AKI) has seen major advancements in the last 5 years. Publication of large international multi-center epidemiological studies demonstrate children of all ages, from neonates to young adults, have increased morbidity and mortality if they develop AKI in the hospitalized setting. Furthermore, after years of exciting discovery and validation, novel AKI biomarkers are being integrated into clinical decision support systems to improve the care of the child with, or at-risk for AKI. Finally, there have been significant advancements in the development and adaptation of device technology to support the critically ill child with AKI. The abstracts contained in this volume represent the cutting edge of clinical and translational research in the field of pediatric critical care nephrology.
