The authors acknowledge the national authorities from the nine countries for providing all the data and documents on ruminant demographics and diseases. We also acknowledge Giuseppina Cinardi from FAO-NSAL for her contribution to generating GLW 4 maps for ruminant distribution. These maps, presented in Figure 2, were adjusted to incorporate data obtained during the project. We would also like to acknowledge the United States DoD DTRA Cooperative Threat Reduction Program's support of project HDTRA1-19-1-0037 Global Framework for the Progressive Control of Transboundary Animal Diseases (GF- TADs).

There was also an error in Supplementary material S4. The information stated for the country (column) “Türkiye” and disease (row) “FMD” should be corrected on the line “Status” – original statement: [No WOAH official status]. The FMD official free status (with vaccination) is recognised in Thrace but not in Anatolia. The original material should be replaced with “Thrace has the WOAH official status.”

The country (column) “Azerbaijan” and “Georgia” and disease (row) “FMD” should be corrected on the line “Status” – original statement: “Absent”. The FMD is absent from clinical disease in the two countries. The original material should be replaced with “Absent (of clinical cases).” The corrected Supplementary Table 4 has been updated in the original article.

The authors apologize for these errors and state that this does not change the scientific conclusions of the article in any way. The original article has been updated.
