Volume 12 - 2024 | https://doi.org/10.3389/fenvs.2024.1379856
This article is a correction to:
Characterisation of Two Wood-Waste and Coffee Bean Husk Biochars for the Removal of Micropollutants from Water
A Corrigendum on
Characterisation of two wood-waste and coffee bean husk biochars for the removal of micropollutants from water
by Van Limbergen T, Roegiers IH, Bonné R, Mare F, Haeldermans T, Joos B, Nouwen O, Manca JV, Vangronsveld J and Thijs S (2022). Front. Environ. Sci. 10:814267. doi: 10.3389/fenvs.2022.814267
In the published article, there was an error in the Author list, and author “Inez Henriette Roegiers” was erroneously excluded from the co-first authorship. The co-first authorship was declared by corresponding author “Sofie Thijs” in the previously submitted authorship change form. However, this comment was overseen by the editor by the time of article publication, and thus, the co-first authorship of “Inez Roegiers” and “Thessa Van Limbergen” is not stated in the published article, which we would like to correct.
The original Author list appears below:
“Thessa Van Limbergen1,2, Inez Henriette Roegiers3, Robin Bonné2,4, Federica Mare1, Tom Haeldermans5, Bjorn Joos6,7,8, Olivier Nouwen1, Jean V. Manca2, Jaco Vangronsveld1,9 and Sofie Thijs1,*.”
The corrected Author list appears below, with an additional sign (†) behind the co-first authors:
“Thessa Van Limbergen1,2,†, Inez Henriette Roegiers3,†, Robin Bonné2,4, Federica Mare1, Tom Haeldermans5, Bjorn Joos6,7,8, Olivier Nouwen1, Jean V. Manca2, Jaco Vangronsveld1,9 and Sofie Thijs1,*.”
The following statement explaining the meaning of the sign (†) behind the co-first author names should be included either in the area on the left of the research paper currently stating the citation, corresponding author etc., or underneath the author affiliations, and declaring the following:
“†These authors have contributed equally to this work and share first authorship.”
The authors apologize for this error and state that this does not change the scientific conclusions of the article in any way. The original article has been updated.
