Why Publish in Frontiers?
Why publish in Frontiers?
Frontiers journals have been developed and are managed by researchers for researchers. This series has been designed to bring you, the author, many benefits and promote you and your research work.
Wider dissemination of your research findings
The structure of the Frontiers Journal Series is such that your research findings will reach the widest possible readership.
Wider dissemination of your research findings
The structure of the Frontiers Journal Series is such that your research findings will reach the widest possible readership.
- The Frontiers philosophy is that all articles submitted to Frontiers are subjected to review without selection bias.
- Open access publication means that no one will be precluded from reading your article by reason of the prohibitive costs charged by many other publications.
- The Frontiers Tiered Publication Process enables the content of selected articles to be acknowledged as ground-breaking and made available to the wider scientific community and to the general public.
The Frontiers Review System will improve the quality of your article:
- Only the top researchers in your field are admitted to the Frontiers editorial boards to ensure that the peer review adds value to your research.
- The Frontiers review template ensures that the review process is comprehensive and objective.
- The real-time interaction between the author and the reviewers speeds up the review process enabling research findings to be published timely.
- You will be able to almost instantaneously claim your discovery through rapid paper pending abstract publications.
The Frontiers Evaluation System gives you the most advanced feedback available as to the readership and citation statistics and as regards the scientific excellence and social relevance of your research project.
Rewards for excellence
A major feature of the Frontiers concept is to reward the publication of excellent academic research in the form of prizes and awards. Frontiers will be guided by its automated, democratic distillation of academic excellence and social relevance to provide the most globally evaluated and recognized awards possible. This recognition of excellence as judged by an unbiased democratic evaluation system will emphasize the prestige of achieving success in such an unbiased publishing environment.
Authors will be rewarded each time any of their articles are selected to climb to a higher tier:
- Authors do not need to pay any additional fees when articles are selected to climb the Tiers - instead Authors receive Excellence Awards.
- Besides the prestige of having reviewed an article that successfully climbs the tiers Frontiers intends to award prizes for outstanding articles that successfully climb the Tier to Frontiers in Neuroscience. These awards will begin when 80% of the specialty journals are considered successfully established (i.e. each journal publishes more than 180 articles per year). The following awards are planned;
- 2000 Euros for any paper is selected to be show-cased in Frontiers in Neuroscience,
- 10'000 Euros prize to the top 10 articles each year,
- 50'000 Euros for the top paper of the year.
- In addition, some of the funds raised by foundations, institutions and industry will be used to provide numerous other prizes for excellence in research published, a part of which will be dedicated to the Review Editors that reviewed those articles.
- These awards will be paid annually in mid-December with respect to papers published during the previous 12 month period ending on November, 30th of each year.
Under the Frontiers terms and conditions you retain the copyright in your work. This means that you may reproduce copies of your articles in any way you chose and freely disseminate these as reprints.
