Dr. Christoph Kayser
Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics, Germany
Review Editor - Frontiers in Integrative Neuroscience

Brief Biography
Christoph Kayser is a Research Scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Tubingen, Germany. He studied mathematics and theoretical physics at the ETH Zurich, Switzerland and graduated in 2001 on a statistical description of learning in artificial neural networks. During his PhD in Neuroscience he investigated the processing of natural scenes in the visual cortex using experimental and theoretical approaches, building on the assumption that the brain can only be understood when considering it in real world and every day context. After receiving his PhD from ETH Zurich in 2004 he moved as a postdoctoral fellow to the MPI for Biological Cybernetics where he is working for Prof. Logothetis. His work combines behavioral and electrophysiological studies with functional imaging in order to understand how the brain combines the input from the different sensory systems into a coherent percept.
