Brief Biography
Grew up in Los Angeles and Hawaii. B.A. in biochemistry from the University of California, San Diego; PhD in neurobiology from the University of California, Irvine. Research Faculty at the California Institute of Technology, 1994-2002; Assistant Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology 2002-Present. Research foci: In vitro models for studying learning and memory; optical microscopy, including multiphoton laser-scanning microscopy; multi-electrode array neurophysiology; robotics; artificial intelligence.
