Frontiers in Neurorestoratology is a Specialty Section of Frontiers in Neuroscience.
Frontiers in Neurorestoratology is a specialty section of Frontiers in Neuroscience dedicated to publishing original articles and important advancements in the pre-clinical research and clinical application of neural restoration. The mission of this specialty section is to popularize the distinct discipline within this latest branch of neurosciences, i.e., neurorestoratology, to spread knowledge and information to make more scientists and clinical physicians know the cutting-edge subject and join in this new field in the long run. Neurorestoratology studies neural regeneration, repair and replacement of damaged components of the nervous system, neuroplasticity, neuroprotection and neuromodulatory mechanisms of recovery, with the focus of promoting recovery of more neural functions. Neurorestoratologic therapeutics include regeneration and functional reconstruction of nervous tissues by transplantation of tissue, cells or biomaterials, bioengineering, neuromodulation by electro-magnetic stimulation, pharmaceutical or chemical therapies, and combinations of the above. Frontiers in Neurorestoratology provides a platform for multi-disciplinary academic exchange of basic and clinical research embraced by the discipline of neurorestoratology. Focusing on the final clinical application, we welcome global contributors to submit original research manuscripts, technique notes, reviews or mini-reviews, conceptual discussions, and position papers, etc. Last but not least, the need for repair is known by all, the cure is known by no-one. The cure lies in the future, but the seeds are in our hands, for us to plant. In the belief that united nations are stronger than divided ones, let’s meet the challenges together.
Frontiers in Neurorestoratology welcomes the following
tier 1 article types: Book Review, Editorial, General Commentary, Hypothesis & Theory, Methods, Opinion, Original Research, Perspective, Review and Specialty Grand Challenge.
All articles must be submitted directly to Frontiers in Neurorestoratology, where they are processed by the associate and review editors of the Specialty Section.
All articles published in Frontiers in Neurorestoratology will be subjected to the
Frontiers Evaluation System after online publication. Authors of the
original research articles with the highest impact, as judged by many expert readers, will be invited by the Field Chief Editor of Frontiers in Neuroscience to write a prestigious Frontiers
Focused Review - a tier 2 article. This is referred to as "
democratic tiering". The selection is based on the reader impact over a 4-month period from the date of publication. The selected high impact articles are re-written in a review style centered on the original discovery, and aim to address the wider audience across all of Neuroscience.
