Bill Bug was trained as a molecular biophysicist studying neuromodulatory pathways effecting pre-synaptic Ca++ ion channels. For the last 10 years, he has been involved in the informatics tool design and development - from laboratory imaging hardware and software development through bibliographic database publishing. As an ontological engineer, he has specialized is in the use of formal semantic frameworks in the design and implementation of various informatics tools to support structural and functional studies of the nervous systems.
