Event Abstract

Psychopatolgical Issues of Technological Addiction

  • 1 Departement of Psychology, University of Palermo, Italy

The addiction is a syndromic condition characterized by a recurrent and reiterated search for pleasure derived from a specific dependence behavior, associated with abuse, craving, clinically significant stress, and compulsive dependence actions despite the possible negative consequences. In this work we propose a new criteria of addiction on the basis of researches in which we observed that many different kinds of addiction (drug addiction, sexual addiction, food addiction, gambling addiction, alcohol addiction, technological addiction) are strictly associated to post-traumatic symptoms, dissociative experiences, and affect dysregulation [1, 2, 3, 4].
